Meet your Himeji Tourist Concierge at the Himeji City Tourist Information Center (NAVI PORT), where your Himeji experience begins. From here, set out on foot through the historic townscape that grew around Himeji Castle.
As you explore the streets, your concierge will take you back to the Edo period, sharing stories of everyday life in the old castle town and the people who once called it home.
Along the way, discover Himeji Castle and the fascinating relationship between feudal power, political strategy, and castle architecture. As you step through its gates, your concierge will explain how its walls, pathways, and defensive features were carefully designed to protect the castle and control those who entered.
You’ll also explore the peaceful world of Koko-en Garden. Wander through its beautifully designed landscapes as your concierge introduces the symbolism, craftsmanship, and philosophy behind traditional Japanese gardens.
Throughout the experience, the route and order of visits can be tailored to your interests and the circumstances of the day, while offering three distinct perspectives on Himeji — its people, its power, and its sense of beauty.

- Entrance fees for special exhibition areas are not included.
- There are 111 steps to the top of the main tower; please be cautious when climbing.
- This tour involves outdoor walking. During the summer months, temperatures in Himeji can be high. Please bring water, a hat, and sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking.
- Shoes must be removed when entering the main tower of Himeji Castle and the Hyakken-roka Corridor (Outer Wall).
- Eating and drinking are not permitted during the tour.
- Some routes may not be accessible for individuals with mobility impairments or those using wheelchairs. Please inform us of any special needs when making your reservation.
- The content and schedule of the guided tour are subject to change without prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather conditions or operational requirements.
If the tour cannot operate due to severe weather, Himeji Castle closure, or other unforeseen circumstances, guests will receive a full refund. Rescheduling may also be offered, subject to availability.
- We are not responsible for any injuries, lost items, or damages during the tour. Participants are advised to take necessary precautions.
- Participation is not allowed for children under 5 years old, and the tour is not suitable for children in elementary school or younger.
- Himeji Castle may be crowded during peak seasons or holidays, and entry may take longer than usual. Please be aware of this in advance.
